1979 � 2007
After being active as a real estate broker for
15 years, in 1979 Drake through various entities, began developing and
selling resort condominiums on the South Carolina coast, and later the Outer Banks,
North Carolina and northern Florida.
1979
■ A managing partner
of the development of
Beachmaster, an oceanfront condominium
in North Myrtle Beach, SC
1980 - 1988 ■ The managing partner
of
the development of Crescent Sands (72 units), the first
concrete and steel condominium in
North Myrtle Beach, SC
■ At Crescent Sands of Windy Hill (54 units), served as
managing partner with a holding company of First Citizens Bank.
■ President and 100% stockholder of Drake Development
Corporation, which developed, managed, sold and handled
rentals for
the following oceanfront condominiums ■ The
Summit and the Spinnaker in
Windy Hill, the Pinnacle at Crescent Beach, and Shipwatch
Shipwatch was the first concrete and steel condominium in Wild Dunes on
the Isle of Palms near Charleston, SC. ■ Consulting developer of
Sea Oats, Kitty Hawk, NC
for a land owner and Point Emerald Villas, Emerald Isle, NC
for
a holding company of First Citizens Bank
■ Vice President of Resort Development
at Edens and Avant, assisting in the acquisition and early development of
Debordieu, a 2,700-acre oceanfront development in Georgetown
County, SC as well as:
Coordinated the pre-sale of an oceanfront condominium at Debordieu
Coordinated, planned and set up sales programs and supervised construction
of a Pete and P. B. Dye golf course and
the adjoining golf villas.
1989 - 1994 ■ Development Consultant
in the planning and early development for the owners of Prestwick
in Surfside Beach, SC,
a 2,000-acre residential community, which also
includes a Dye designed golf course
Responsibilities included the development of the master plan of the
development and golf course, as well as the
coordination of sales, marketing
and engineering ■ Development and Marketing Consultant
to Windermere,
an 1,800-acre subdivision development located at
Long Creek Plantation in
Columbia, SC
Drake's involvement included development of a Pete and P.B. Dye golf course
and directing the pre-sale of over 75 lots. ■ Drake Development and Realty became the development and sales
company of Governors Grant subdivision
in Lexington, SC In 1993 and 1994, Governors Grant was the top subdivision in the greater
Columbia area in both home and lot sales
with homes above $150,000.00. Site
of the 1994 Parade of Homes and named by the Home Builders Association of
Columbia 1994 �Community of the Year� for Greater Columbia, the subdivision
consists of over 350 homes with the
last phase of approximately 50 additional home sites
being
developed in 2007.
New home prices range from $350,000 to over $1,000,000.
1995 - 2004
Manager of the development companies and the sales company for the following
oceanfront condominiums: ■ The Beach Club at Windy Hill
was
completed in May 1995. This was the first oceanfront condominium development in
North Myrtle Beach, SC since 1986.
■ The Beach Club II at Windy Hill,
construction began in October 1995. ■
Beach Club III at Windy Hill was completed in December
of 1997. ■ Ocean Bay Club,
(166 units),
in Ocean Drive was completed in 1998. ■ Charleston
Oceanfront Villas, (96 units)
was completed in 1998. ■ The AshWorth, (162 units)
in North Myrtle Beach, SC was
completed in October 1999. ■ Windy Hill Dunes, (97 units)
including 15
penthouses of over 3000 square feet in the Windy Hill section of
North
Myrtle Beach began in February 1999 with completion in May of 2000. ■
NorthShore Villas consists of 57 luxury condominiums.
The pre-sale was accomplished in less than two weeks and the condominiums
were completed in August of 2000. ■ The Peoples Building, a nine-story, historically
significant building in downtown Charleston, SC was renovated in
an effort to recreate the historic detail and decorative charm of this Charleston
landmark. The 1st 4 floors are commercial.
The top 4 floors
include 7 residential condominiums starting at $2,000,000 and a rooftop
penthouse. The renovation
work was completed in 2000. ■ The
NorthTower, (119 units) is located in Barefoot Resort on
the waterway in North Myrtle Beach, SC across from
Barefoot Landing. The
condos became the centerpiece of a planned community of over 2700 acres.
Amenities in the
resort include four world class golf courses designed by
Davis Love III, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman & Pete Dye.
Construction began in
April 2001 with completion in June 2002. ■ The Hammock Beach Club, at Hammock Beach Resort, 148
condos priced from $600,000 to over $1,500,000.
Located 22 miles south of
St. Augustine, and 22 miles north of Daytona, FL. Hammock Beach Resort
includes over
2 miles of oceanfront, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the
Intra-coastal Waterway. Jack Nicklaus designed the
championship golf course
with 6 true �Links� holes along the ocean. The Hammock Beach Club is the
focal point of
this new resort community. Construction began in spring 2001
with completion in the spring of 2003. ■
Crescent Shores, in North Myrtle Beach, SC, consists of
216 condos in two buildings priced from $355,000 to $430,000.
Construction
began late 2002 with completion in March, 2004. ■
SouthShore Villas in North Myrtle Beach, SC sold out to
Drake�s present homeowners before going to market.
SouthShore Villas is a
63-unit condominium completed early 2005.
2005-2007
■ Manager of the development of Yacht Club Villas
in North Myrtle Beach, SC
Drake�s 2nd intercoastal waterway development in Barefoot Resort,
Drake developed the first building at this site,
the NorthTower (119
condos), in 2002. Yacht Club Villas consists of 145 villas and
was completed in the spring of 2006. ■ A managing partner of Yacht Club consisting of 162 boat slips
in Barefoot Resort on the intercoastal waterway of
North Myrtle Beach, SC

Manager of the development of The Pointe
in North Myrtle Beach, SC a 51 condominium development in
North Myrtle
Beach, SC With villa prices of over $1,000,000 construction is presently
underway with completion
expected early 2008.

is a recent development. Ashworth Place located in The Town of Arcadia
Lakes, adjacent to
Columbia, SC is a small, gated subdivision consisting of
